Artisan: Fitter & Turner (x2)

Short summary:
The main task of this position will be to form part of the maintenance team that is responsible for the maintenance of plants. The task of this position is also the manufacturing of components on the lathe and milling machine to ensure optimal productivity of the production plant and projects through accuracy and attention to detail.

 Will be responsible for all machinery in the department
 Experience in a food manufacturing environment would be to the applicant’s advantage
 Applicable skills in plant maintenance. This will include plant maintenance, preventative maintenance, projects and shutdowns
 Due to the nature and structure of the maintenance team, it will be expected from this position to get involved with other maintenance duties not related to his discipline. It can therefore be expected of this position to do this work with the necessary supervision and assistance
 Must be able to read technical/mechanical drawings and specifications
 Must be prepared to work standby
 Knowledge of HACCP and Safety procedures will be to the applicant’s advantage
 Responsible to maintain Safety standards accord company policy
 Development and training of semi-skilled technicians and technical assistants
 This person will be responsible for his team and its activities and will need to ensure all work complies to industry standards

Key Competencies:
Education and skills
 Grade 12
 Qualified with applicable Trade Certificate would be an advantage
 Code B driving license
 A minimum of 5 years plant maintenance experience
