Field Marketer

Short Summary:
The main task of this position is to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establishes new accounts to achieve company/sales objective(s)

 Contribute towards maximising sales opportunities by diligently doing the following:
o Effectively implement merchandising strategy as determined by the Marketing manager
 Basic merchandising of company’s stock on retailer shelfs
 Aggressively gain shelf space on retail level – and push out competitor brands
 Take a photo of the shelf (before)
 Identify if all products have a price talker request a new price indicator (PI) to be printed if there are missing prices
 Identify if there is sufficient stock on the shelf, investigate if there is any stock in the storeroom
 Maintains inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory; observing inventory levels; prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low
 Ensure that the stock is packed according to set planogram
 Ensure that stock sits at the front of the shelf with label(s) correctly aligned
 Install point of sales (POS)
 Ensure that all point of sale (POS) material is displayed correctly and undamaged, any damaged POS material will be removed and replaced
 Take a photo of the shelf after merchandising
 All information to be captured via REPSLY live
o Install Free standing units (FSU), Gondola ends and cross merchandising
 Setup FSU and Gondola ends as per agreement with customer and company
 Implement cross merchandising strategy as negotiated by Field marketer/Sales representative
o Market intelligence
 The current selling price of Southern oil products and competitor prices is then captured by sales employee
 Product stock sold per period
o Credit management
 Any quality related issues are escalated to Merchandising supervisor
 Following daily/weekly and monthly call cycle
 Reporting daily/weekly/monthly on set objectives per store per visit
 In store activation(s) (wet demos)
o Ensure stock is available as agreed for in store activations (wet demos)
o Ensure execution of wet demo(s) week days and weekends
 Grow value added sales in the Independent market segment per area allocated
o Food services, independent retail and wholesale segment

 Events:
o Merchandising team to be involved with marketing events:
 Assist with setup / transport
 Assist with sales
 Manage cashbox if needed
 Manage stock
 Manage brand/marketing events material so that it is booked out and safely returned undamaged to the marketing office
 Occasionally weekend work will be required for events

Key Competencies:

Qualification and Experience
 Matric
 Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
 Valid driver’s license
 At least 2’ year relevant experience in the retail environment (FMCG)
